…let me introduce you!
David Ellington is an actor, theatre maker and founder of VS1 productions. He is profoundly deaf and a British Sign language (BSL) user and has been acting since 1997. His work has spanned film, theatre, and television drama and TV presenting. Recent credits include Extraordinary Wall [of Silence] (Ad Infinitum), The British Paraorchestra - Terry Riley's In C (Extraordinary Bodies) & What Am I Worth (Diverse City).
David is an Associate Artist at Extraordinary Bodies - a partnership between Cirque Bijou and Diverse City, comprising a company of artistic activators and activists with a leading artistic practice that increases national awareness of the integration of Deaf, disabled and non-disabled artists working equally together. He is also part of the Ad Infinitum Family - the critically acclaimed Bristol-based theatre company that provokes global audiences by telling stories of those who are marginalised through ethnicity, socio-economic disadvantage, sexuality, gender, disabling barriers, age & mental health.
In 2007, David founded VS1 productions, a film production company with the aim of giving opportunities to rising Deaf talent in digital media. You can watch clips of all of their projects here.
David also has extensive facilitation experience of leading workshops with young Deaf, disabled and non-disabled students as well as with adults.
